OLD FRENCH PAINTED ZINC GRAPE HOTTE

This wonderful handpainted zinc French grape picker's 'hotte' was once used by
vineyard field workers and was found in the Loire Valley region of France and would have been used to gather grapes during the harvest. They now make great decorative pieces, good storage for logs,
flowers etc and can be wall mounted with fittings on the back along with the original leather strap.
This one has been hand painted and waxed more recently with the coat of arms of Chateau Neuf du Pape.
The hotte is in very good strong and sturdy condition for its age and has a minor dents and dings as shown.

Measurements 70cm tall x 62cm wide at the top and 28cm at the base x 43cm deep at the top and 17cm deep at the base.
