OLD FRENCH PAINTED ZINC GRAPE HOTTE

This wonderful handpainted zinc French grape picker's 'hotte' was once used by vineyard field workers and was found in the Loire Valley region of France to gather grapes during the harvest.
They now make great decorative pieces, good storage for logs, flowers etc and can be
wall mounted with fittings on the back along with the original leather straps
This one has two spikes underneath at the back which could have been used to push into the ground for balance.
This one has been hand painted more recently with the coat of arms of Chateau Neuf du Pape.
The hotte is in very good strong and sturdy condition for its age and has a minor dents and dings as shown.

Measurements 66cm wide x 74cm tall x 55cm deep at the top and 10cm deep at the base.
