ORIGINAL OLD FRENCH PETITE MANNEQUIN / TAILORS DUMMY

This is a good quality, interestingly decorative small size mannequin which would originally
have had the usual layers of paper/ cotton/ linen placed over very thick card, but this one has had its layers removed and been pared down almost completely to the card. It shows how it was constructed with large stitches to one side (which are all intact with no loose stitches). The back has a fragment of newspaper still attached and has a printed date on it of 1905.
There is one small slit to the front left hand side by the shoulder but the turned wooden collar, finial, central support rod
and 3 legged base stand are all in great condition. There is a wooden base attached to the underside of the main body.
There is a metal ring around the central support rod which should have a screw to adjust the height of the mannequin
but this is missing.

The total height from floor to top of finial is 124 cm.
The main body is 48 cm long x 31 cm wide at the shoulders The waist is 55 cm
