WONDERFUL ANTIQUE FRENCH COUNTRY COMTOISE CLOCK c1890

Wonderful old French country double chiming comtoise clock dating from c1890s.
With hand painted flowers and scrolls to the wooden case. With a superb ornamental pressed brass pendulum
and surround around the clock face featuring flowers and leaves.
The enamel face is in very good condition and has the maker and town in the Loire Valley region
'Chauvin Morille au Pin'. The mechanism appears clean and complete, though we have not tried
to get it to work but feel confident that it would take only a small amount of work to do so and has the cast iron weights.
The wonderful hand painted case is in good condition with some loss of paint and minor
knocks and bumps in keeping with its age.
There are some old woodworm holes - long since gone and the case has been fully treated with
a woodworm preventative as a matter of course.

It measures 229cms tall x 50 cms wide x 21cms deep
