BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE FRENCH MARRIAGE CASKET c1900

Antique red velvet lined marriage display casket 1890's.
These caskets were given to the bride and groom on their wedding day to hold mementos
of the day - in this case the bride's tiara consisting of tiny waxed buds which have been placed
on a red velvet cushion with gilded toleware flower buttons.
A wooden box with a shaped glass sides - the front is open as the convex glass is missing, the interior is
embellished with brass toleware birds. leaves and garlamds
of flowers with a rococo crest to top with detailed filigree around the frame and 4 brass feet.
In superb condition with minor knocks and bumps in keeping with age.

The dimensions are 33cms tall x 28cms wide x 18cms deep.
