Elegant Antique French Gilded Brass Trinket Box

This lovely French antique gilded brass trinket box stands on four elegant legs,
has its original red buttoned silk lining and the lid has a central medallion depicting
the profile of a Romanesque lady's head. The main decoration around the sides
consists of laurel leaves and outstretched winged birds/eagles which is very much in
the 'Empire' style dating from around the middle of 19th century - c1890 - 1900.
The back is stamped 'Depose 321'.
The box is in excellent condition for its age with no damage to the slender legs and
the hinged top is in good working order.
