LARGE DECORATIVE OLD FRENCH CAST IRON CROSS - PINEAPPLE DESIGN

This very decorative, large delicately worked French cast iron cross
has wonderful ornate detail featuring a pineapple motif in the centre.
It is thought that the pineapple became symbolic in religion as each pineapple plant gives its
own life to produce a single fruit.
The cross is in its as found condition with superficial rusting and dates from around 1900.

The dimensions are 132cms tall x 69cms wide
