VERY PRETTY ANTIQUE FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE PAINTED
CARVED WOOD DEMI-LUNE CONSOLE / BOITE A BIJOUX - c1850

This is a rare French find dating from around 1850 combining a gorgeous painted
carved wood console with a hinged glass top in which to place 'objet bijou' - necklace, bracelets, rings etc.
In its 'as found' pale grey painted finish which is now lightly distressed with age.
The interior retains a remnant of its original silk lining which is included or a new cushion
could easily be made to fit.
The shape is demi-lune with a curved and carved central leg and pierced carving around the centre.
A wonderful item for the 'boudoir' !
In superb condition with some minor knocks and bumps is in keeping with its age.

Measurements : 79cms tall x 50cms wide x 26cms deep.
