MAGNIFICENT FRENCH CHATEAU SIZED LOOMED TAPESTRY - MUSICAL SCENE C1880

This wonderful tapestry was found in an old French haberdashery shop
which was closing down in the Maine et Loire region of France.
It had been left carefully folded and so its colours are still quite vibrant.
The main feature is a charming scene with elegant ladies in the foreground playing
musical instruments in formal gardens with a gentleman bringing them a
tray of 'aperitifs' - but is also full of other interesting vignettes.

It measures approximately 13ft 6 inches wide x 5ft 8 inches tall and though
it does not have a pole or curtain rings to hang it it does have its original length of linen
at the back which could be resewn into position to enable a pole to be threaded through.
