OLD FRENCH GARDEN STATUE OF
OLYMPIC DISCUS THROWER - DISCOBOLUS

What a great find for your garden or a grand interior in this London Olympic year!
This old French garden statue which is of a composite material
including cement and granules of stone dates from around 1950.
It is based on a Roman copy of a lost original Greek bronze - Discobolus of Myron.
This statue is in very good condition for its age apart from
a crack on the arm, as shown, but as the arm and the rest of the statue does
have metal reinforcing to the interior the arm will remain secure.

It measures 167cms tall to the top of the discus x 92cms wide x 40cms deep.

It is an extremely heavy item weighing around 150 kilos
