VERY STYLISH OLD FRENCH MANNEQUIN 'STOCKMAN - PARIS' c.1900

This increasingly hard to find French Mannequin dates from around 1900.
The wonderfully corsetted shaped body is of finely stiched black silk and
stencilled 'Stockman Paris' in white at the base - a premier manufacturer of mannequins.
The wooden stand is original as is the brass height adjuster which still works
and which is also marked Stockman on one side and Paris on the other.

The stand is in very good condition and has been treated with a woodworm preventative
as a matter of course. There is some slight tearing of the fabric as shown and the back has been
dented slightly but this is commensurate with its age.

There is the French size 42 also stencilled in white at the front of the neck
and when not extended stands at 160cms tall.
